Engaging Communities for Better Health
Our outreach initiatives are designed to cater to underserved populations and promote health awareness and accessibility.
- Collaborative healthcare camps and mobile clinics reaching remote areas.
- Health screenings, vaccinations, and disease prevention programs conducted in local schools and community centers.
- Empowering communities through health education, training sessions, and workshops on sanitation and hygiene.
We believe in bridging gaps in healthcare access by engaging communities, providing essential services, and promoting health education to ensure better health outcomes for all.
Buga Outreach Program - Lukoge Village
We are excited to share the details of our recent outreach program, held on September 10th at Lukoge Village, Luwero District, Uganda. This outreach was proudly sponsored by the Redding West Rotary Club, California District 5160, and we are deeply grateful for their support.
Program Highlights
- Total attendance: 434 people
- Malaria testing and treatment: 94 tests, 63 treatments
- Common cold treatment: 49 people
- Other complications: 48 treatments
- Nutritional supplements for 37 infants and toddlers
- Reusable sanitary pads distributed to 81 girls and young mothers
- Mosquito nets: 25 people
- Oral hygiene kits: 105 children
- Immunization: 29 babies
- Deworming: 66 people
- HIV testing and counselling: 22 people
Surprises and Lessons Learned
- Unexpected number of teenage mothers
- Enthusiastic reception and appreciation from the residents
- Lack of access to basic hygiene essentials for children
- High prevalence of eye defects
- Issues with previous healthcare providers not sharing test results, particularly HIV
